Harry Jerome was the fastest man in the world, and he was Canadian.
Harry set 7-world records and held both the fastest times in the 100 yard and 100 m dash at the same time. He was born in Saskatchewan, ran for North Van track, Oregon University and Canada. He won a bronze medal at the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo.
Harry graduated from Oregon and was also apart of the Ministry of Sport appointed by Pierre Trudeau.
